Recently, Twitter suspended the account of a journalist whose opinions ruffled the feathers of NBC execs. NBC has captured the infamous attention of the world by delayed airing of the Olympic Games and its weak and inane coverage as posited by Guy Adams, a writer for The Independent.
Now NBC has whined and Twitter bowed; creating a far larger spectacle. The rationale for discipline is thin. Adams tweeted the business address of an NBC exec and called on viewers to voice their frustration.
As for whether the address is truly private as suggested by NBC, a search now will find the email address easily.
NBC should think it through next time it decides to kick a hornet's nest.
Journalists, after all, are known for their opinions.
Update: Twitter, has issued an apology and lifted the suspension from @guyadams' account. Props to Twitter for a wrong undone.
